| This page is designed to deliver texts for use in the study of the English Grammar and Syntax at UFRN (LEM2010). The main contents of the page are in-class teaching materials which you are invited to study and complete (in cases of exercises) and return to me within a week. The value of such exercises for course Evaluation will be 50% - obviously with the prospect of losing up to 50% for their weekly non-completion. In addition to the textbooks of Michael Dean and John Eastman supplied here - and made available in their entirety as well as on separate pages - there are a number of well-known English Grammars, justly regarded as classics, which you are invited to add to your hard-drive with a view to perusal or use at any future time. While this page has been created to address the problems of communication and delivery we are facing during the COVID pandemic (aka novo corónavirus) it also serves as a long-term resource and will be available to you after the completion of the course. Objetivos: Apresentar, analisar e discutir os aspectos morfossintáticos da língua inglesa a partir de uma abordagem teórico-prática para que se possa encaminhar a discussão sobre como os aspectos estudados podem ser transformados pedagogicamente para a prática docente do professor de inglês como língua estrangeira em diferentes contextos. |

Competências:
- Construir e aplicar os conceitos morfossintáticos à própria aprendizagem e ao ensino de inglês como língua estrangeira.
- Posicionar-se criticamente frente às informações apresentadas em relação à morfossintaxe e sua aplicação aos estudos da linguagem.
- Selecionar, organizar, relacionar e interpretar os conhecimentos teórico-metodológicos para tomar decisões didático-pedagógicas aplicáveis ao ensino-aprendizagem de língua inglesa de acordo com a prática.
Habilidades:
- Com base nas leituras e discussões, relacionar as informações e os conhecimentos para aplicação prática.
- A partir de situações de ensino-aprendizagem, apresentar soluções a partir das possibilidades que a morfossintaxe oferece .
- Estabelecer relações entre os textos teóricos e o contexto sócio-histórico de cada participante, justificando as escolhas e as aplicações da morfossintaxe.
- Com base em experiências pessoais de ensino-aprendizagem, analisar a questão da morfossintaxe e sua relação ao campo do ensino de línguas.

Metodologia:Aulas expositivas, discussão dos temas selecionados, exercícios de análise morfossintática realizados individualmente e em grupos, análise de materiais didáticos utilizados no ensino de inglês e a abordagem dos aspectos morfossintáticos da língua. Exemplos de Pidgins e Creoles serão utilizados em cada unidade para exemplificar conceitos morfosintáticos e a sua relação ao contexto sócio-histórico no qual surge e se constrói. |

Avaliação:A avaliação será contínua e levará em conta a participação em trabalhos de classe, nas discussões dos textos, e atividades desenvolvidas em aula. Serão utilizados também relatos de ensino e aprendizagem, além de 3 avaliações escritas, uma para cada unidade do curso. |
