Life
1903-1984; [?-?]; [prop. Jimmy Kennedy]; b. Omagh, Co. Tyrone; raised in Portstewart, Co. Londonderry; d. TCD; author of The Teddy Bears Picnic’, ‘Red Sails in the Sunset’, ‘South of the Border’. ‘Love is Like a Violin’, and ‘The Hokey Cokey’; he is commemorated in Stewart Parker’s play Spokesong (1975), based on his music.
