1903-1984; [?-?]; [prop. Jimmy Kennedy]; b. Omagh, Co. Tyrone; raised in Portstewart, Co. Londonderry; d. TCD; author of “The Teddy Bears Picnic”, “Red Sails in the Sunset”, “South of the Border”. “Love is Like a Violin”, and “The Hokey Cokey”; he is commemorated in Stewart Parker’s play Spokesong (1975), based on his music.
