James Graham Fair

1831-1894; b. Belfast [var. Co. Tyrone], 3 Dec.; emig. to Illinois (US) with parents, 1843; ed. in business; moved to California, 1849; worked in gold mining to 1860; he moved to Virginia City, Nevada; became mining millionaire in in gold and silver; engaged in real estate and investment in San Francisco; Democratic Senator, March 1881-87; unsuccessful in 1886 election; resumed business in San Francisco; d. on 28 December; bur. Laurel Hill Cemetery. DIB
