Supremacy, and obtained first fruits of Irish abbeys for the king; travelled widely in Ireland; hated by clergy and Irish council; suffered disfavour; introduced first English prayerbook to Ireland, 1550; patent primate of Ireland, deprived at accession of Queen Mary and deposed as married man.
