Florence McCarthy Reagh

Life
?1562-1640 [also [Fineen for Florence]; served on English side in Desmond Rebellion; suspected of intrigue with Spain, committed to Tower, 1589-91; returned to Ireland, 1598; again arrested and imprisoned, 1601-14; 1617-19; and 1624-26; wrote a scholarly  ‘treatise on the antiquity and history of Ireland’ in the Tower of London, dealing with prehistoric times [DNB] (published 1858).
