1960- ; b. Ballsbridge. Co. Dublin; lived as child in tenement; ed. Ballymun Comprehensive; leaving Certificate; emig. London, mid. 1980s; settled at Peckham Tower Blocks; entered [drug] rehab. centre in Birmingham after his wife and children fled back to Dublin; sent typescript of Any Other Time to Mick O’Brien, prop. of O’Brien Press, Dublin (who died during editing); attended university creative writing program; wrote Slow Puncture, a second novel, in Crete; published by Brandon, 1999; Any Other Time afterwards published by Brandon; living in Stroud; currently studying for Master’s degree.
