Notes
James Simmons’s review of Padraic Fiacc, ed., The Wearing of the Black (1974) incl. unenthusiatic allusions to Meta Mayne Reid’s poetry together with the sentence: ‘I got a postcard from Meta Mayne Reid saying, among other things, that we all owed Padraic Fiacc a dept of gratitude for editing this anthology. Depsite the many reservations and criticisms above, I go along with that.’ (The Honest Ulsterman, Nov. 1974-Feb. 1975, p.71)
