Liverpool, Manchester, and Chester; Latin lecturer at St. Aidans
Theological College, Birkenhead (Liverpool); noted as eloquent and original
preacher while rector of SS. Simon and Jude, Manchester, 1858-87; wrote
theological works; also History of the Irish People (2 vols., 1882); The Irish Massacre of 1641 (1885); W. E. A. Axon edited his Essays
