entered army, left in 1796; BA TCD, 1803; sometime artist and musician,
d. Clifton, Gloucestershire, 11 Oct.; The Life Boat or Dillin ODwire,
a poem (Dublin 1815); Mont St Jean, poem with notes (Lon &
Dub 1816); The Legend of Einsidlin, a tale of Switzerland, with
poetical sketches of Swiss scenery; Montblanc, etc., with notes
(Lon 1829); Retrospection ... The Lord of the Valley and Other Poems
(Lon 1841); also travels on the continent. PI, rarely touched Irish subjects;
