1889-1964 [Naomi Ellington Jacob]; b. Ripon, Yorkshire; ed. Middlesborough High School; teacher and suffragette; successful actress, London; author of several works in ‘Me’ autobiog. series; also two plays; popular novels incl. Jacob Ussher; Honour’s a Mistress; The Gollantz Saga; Mary of Delight; Heat of the House; Second Harvest; Morning Will Come; her sole Irish book, The Irish Boy (1955), is about Michael Kelly, the singer [q.v.]; latterly lived at Sirmione, Italy.
