Notes
Assassin?: D. J. ODonoghue (The Poets of Ireland,
1912) , notes that a namesake and the only successful assassin of an English
premier was defended by a barrister called Peter Alley in 1821, and suggests
that Alley may be the author of the poetry collection Public Spirit
(Dublin 1793)
