Donegal, native speaker; taught Irish; worked in America as cowpuncher and professional boxer; in Dublin as clerk; assisted Roger Casement in promoting Colaiste Uladh, Cloughaneeley; published school textbook, An Meadhon-Leabhar (Dublin 1922); novels, Tusa, a Mhaicín (Derry 1922); ’Sé Dia an Fear is Feárr (Dublin 1928); Na Rosa go Bráthach (Dublin 1939); Gleann na Coilleagh Uaignighe (Dublin 1946); Iascaire na gCiabh-Fholt Fionn (Dublin 1955); An Sean-Fhód (Dublin 1969); also autobiographical story, Maicín (Dublin 1946), and a further volume, Gura Slán le m’Oige (Dublin 1974).
